Valley Forge Loop

The Joseph Plumb Martin Trail is Valley Forge National Historical Park's signature 5-mile paved loop, following much of the historic Encampment Tour route. The trail winds past many of the park's most notable Revolutionary War landmarks, including the National Memorial Arch, reconstructed soldiers' huts, Artillery Park, and Washington Memorial Chapel. Expect rolling hills rather than a flat walk, but the route is well maintained and suitable for walkers, runners, and cyclists.

Roslyn Park
Roslyn Park is a small but well-kept neighborhood park in Abington Township that works well for short easy runs, walking loops, recovery miles, and casual outdoor workouts. The park features a paved walking path loop around athletic fields and Sandy Run, offering a flat and beginner-friendly route that’s especially convenient for local residents looking to get in quick mileage without dealing with traffic or crowded trails. While the main loop is short — roughly a half mile to three-quarters of a mile depending on the route you take — it’s easy to stack multiple laps for workouts, intervals, or stroller runs. The park also includes basketball courts, ball fields, playgrounds, and a skatepark, giving it an active community atmosphere throughout the day and evening. Great flat loop for tempo runs and repeat workouts.

Peace Valley Park
Peace Valley Park is one of the best running destinations in Bucks County, offering miles of scenic paved and gravel trails surrounding Lake Galena in a peaceful, nature-filled setting. The park’s signature route is the roughly 6-mile loop around the lake — a favorite for long runs, marathon training, biking, and relaxed recovery miles thanks to its rolling terrain, smooth footing, and constant water views. Runners can choose between wide paved paths, smaller nature trails, and wooded connectors that make it easy to customize distance and elevation. The park is especially beautiful during sunrise and fall foliage season, with frequent wildlife sightings and long stretches that feel surprisingly secluded despite being close to Doylestown. Whether you’re looking for an easy jog, tempo effort, or weekend long run, Peace Valley offers one of the most versatile and scenic running environments in the Philly suburbs.

Power Line Trail
The Power Line Trail is one of the best paved running trails in Montgomery County, offering over 5 miles of smooth multi-use path through Horsham Township with easy opportunities for longer out-and-back runs. Built along a PECO utility corridor, the trail combines wide open stretches, gentle rolling hills, and neighborhood green spaces that make it ideal for tempo runs, marathon training, bike workouts, and everyday mileage. Unlike wooded trails, the route is mostly exposed to the sun, giving runners long sightlines and a safe, open feel year-round. The paved surface and gradual elevation changes make it beginner-friendly while still offering enough variation for solid workout efforts. Along the way, the trail connects parks, schools, and community spaces throughout Horsham, with access to places like Everybody's Playground and nearby township parks.
